How to Sell Without Being Pushy
Now matter how you make money online at some point you have to sell stuff. Especially, if you want to really want to crush it, you will need to create and SELL your own products.
Now the average person is not a salesman. They are just a guy/gal who love to talk about what they love. So how does the average person sell without knowing how to sell?
“Be like water my friends.”
Sorry, I just wanted to sound cool. Here is what you do.
1. Don’t sell. Make recommendations.
You will not succeed if you are known as the guy always selling stuff to people. People are really good at sniffing those kind of people out. You don’t want to be that guy. Don’t you ignore or hang up on telemarketers? There are online versions of them as well. Don’t be that guy.
Instead make recommendations. If you are writing a blog post about a problem that many of your readers face. You can show them how to solve the problem and recommend a tool they can use to help.

Aweber Is Better Than MailChimp For Affiliate Marketers
I was alerted to some interested news about MailChimp’s new policy. It basically prohibits affiliate marketing links in emails using their service.
According to MailChimp:
there are some industries that send certain types of content that result in higher than normal bounce rates and abuse complaints, which in turn jeopardize the deliverability of our entire system. No offense intended, but because we must ensure the highest delivery rates possible for all our customers, we do not allow businesses that offer these types of services, products, or content:
- Illegal goods or services
- Escort and dating services
- Pharmaceutical products
- Work from home, Internet Lead-gen, Make money on online opportunities, etc.
- Online trading, day trading tips, or stock market related content
- Gambling services, products or gambling education
- Multi-level marketing
- Affiliate marketers
- Credit repair, get-out-of-debt content
- Mortgages and/or Loans
- Nutritional Supplements, Herbal Supplements or Vitamin Supplements
- Pornography or nudity in content
- Adult novelty items or references in content
- List brokers or List rental services
- Marketing or sending commercial email without proper permission
This move by MailChimp will cost them alot of business. Even if a company is not heavily into promoting other offers as an affiliate They we not use their service for that reason alone.
I have never used MailChimp personally; aside from on behalf of my web design clients. At one point I was thinking about maybe testing them out. Their biggest selling point is that the first 2000 emails are free.
But now I’m glad I am with Aweber. Aweber loves working with affiliate marketers and over 100,000 of them use their service. If you want to get into afffiliate marketing you must choose go with Aweber.
5 Sneaky Passive Income Methods

To set up the right business you need sources of income where you aren’t tied to a time or location. A lot of successful business owners have some interesting systems that generate passive income.
Today I want to share with you some of these sneaky passive income methods that you can use for yourself. It is important to mention, these require you to have outsourced virtual staff to do them, and they are not designed for you to run.
Passive income method #1:
Setting up and running numerous blogs that generates income through selling advertising and affiliate products in a few different niches.
An example is a car blog that has numerous writers updating this blog daily with reviews and industry news. Through this they generate lots of traffic to their website and sell monthly advertising subscriptions to car manufacturers and any company interested to advertise to a car following readership.
Additionally, they generate income through selling car accessories and make a commission on each item they sell, without the need to handle deliveries and customer service.
Passive income method #2:
Sell outsourcing services through Elance or oDesk and have all work outsourced to people in the Philippines.
This method is to craft good sales letters promoting to businesses that need work to be completed on Elance or oDesk. The prices offered are in line with what others charge and you simply become a referral service and collect a commission on every job referred and completed.
How To Make Money With Social Media
I wanted to show you this video. It was recorded during a workshop for the annual miniEnterprize Canada conference. The venue was University of British Columbia. The speaker in John Chow. If you don’t know who he is you should really get to know him. He earned $500,000 in 2009 from his blog JohnChow.com. He knows his stuff.
The $75,000 Per Month Business
This is a truly inspirational story. This is an excellent example of someone who took something they knew and made a business out of it. And he did it by accident!
I want to tell you about a guy named Jacob Hiller. He wrote an ebook called âThe Jump Manualâ. It teaches people how to jump higher. For those who don’t know, this is very useful for athletes especially in basketball and volleyball. He began creating very basic youtube videos and a quick free guide on how to jump higher. As it turns out, this was in high demand, thatâs when he decided to make a full paid ebook. Once his ebook was released in Clickbank, affiliates started promoting it very hard.
Clickbank is a secure online retail outlet for more than 70,000 digital product vendors and 110,000 active affiliate marketers. It’s a great place to start a business.
Jacob didn’t start out to build a business. He talked about something he loved and people responded. Once he saw the demand he created a product that people gladly paid him to get because he provided a solution to their problem. Now go and do likewise.
Some Highlights
Average sale for affiliates from Jacobs ebook is $52.52
His ebook cost the customer $67
Heâs made over 1 Million from his book
($ 1,000,000/$67 = 14,925 books sold)
Heâs now making over $75,000/month
Why You Must Have Multiple Streams of Income
You know, one of the drawbacks of having a job is that it doesn’t leave much room for additional income. You work 40+ hours a week and your salary is the most you can make. Now, you can do some side gigs, etc and make some money. But the fact is, because most of your time is focused on a job, you can’t do much. Also, there is no such thing as job security. At any moment, anything can happen to force you out of your job. Whether it’s being fire, laid off or otherwise. And when that happens your income stops.
Conversely, when you build online business, you can have multiple streams of income. In fact, you need to have multiple ways of making money. With an online business or any business for that matter there is no guarantee that when you start making money, you will keep making money. You need diversify your portfolio. This approach works really well.
Let’s say you have one source of passive income. For example Google Adsense. You are making good money with that but one day your website goes down. It gets hacked or some unforseen thing happens. Now you will make less this month from Google Adsense because of it. But if you had numerous ways of making money it wouldn’t be that bad.
Take Pat Flynn for example. According to his blog, he is a 27 year old dude from Southern California who makes a living on the internet. He earned $17,905.88 this past October alone. How did he do it? By focusing on selling a product? No. He is doing many things to make money. Some of the things are promoting affiliate products, selling his own ebook, and selling iPhone apps. Check out his income breakdown of this past month.
