But more importantly everyone has a voice on the internet. Anyone can start a blog or create a video and get their message to the masses. Knowledge truly is power on the internet.

The challenge now is be the person that these people find when they search.

Everybody knows something. Everyone has a couple years experience doing something. Whether it’s plumbing, knitting, or human resources. Also, everyone is really good at something.

Ask yourself these questions:
What do I know a lot about?
What am I really good at?
What am I seriously passionate about?
What do I love to do even if I wasn’t paid to do it.

Once you get the answers to these questions choose the one you are most excited about. With the power of the internet you can start positioning yourself as an expert on that topic.

So say you are very knowledgeable about home improvement. You can start a website about home improvement, remodeling, and construction. You write articles and create videos helping people improve their homes. People searching online for home improvement information find your website and consume your content. They share your website with others and more people come.

Because you are helping people and provide a great resource people start seeing you as an expert in that field. You don’t necessarily need to know everything there is to know about a topic to be an expert. In time you have a website that you can monitze in various ways like selling ad space, displaying contextual ads (like Google Adsense) and affiliate marketing.
